JULY 8 READING…1 CORINTHIANS 2
It was important to Paul to remind the church of Corinth, that was dealing with schisms and poor practice of the faith, to keep Jesus the main thing. It’s true today also, when a church loses its focus on Christ, bad things start to happen. Paul told the church that the message was Jesus and His crucifixion. And the power behind sharing that message is never by man, or how clever one’s speech is…but by the power of the Holy Spirit.
It is by the Spirit that the message is spoken...and it is by the Spirit that the message is received. The natural person, or unsaved person cannot fully receive and understand the things of God. God reveals these to us by the Holy Spirit. The unsaved person will see the things of God as foolishness…not seeing that their lack of comprehension comes from their spiritual emptiness. The things from God are spiritually discerned…meaning properly understood by the Holy Spirit. We believers have been given the mind of Christ, allowing us to receive all things from God.
Please share your thoughts from today’s reading.
