Serving So Faithfully
I hope many of you have had the opportunity to get away from the heat this summer. It is hard to believe we are just over a week away from the kids returning to school. Personally I wish the heat would dissipate just a little bit. There have been great things that have happened this summer. Both our children and youth had great camps where the Lord spoke to them. Our VBS was wonderful and we saw precious souls receive Jesus as their Savior. We have seen growth in the church body both in number and in spiritual maturity during these slower months. To all this I say thank you to all that have been serving so faithfully in all the areas of ministry here at FBC. Most of all I am so grateful to the Lord for His Spirit working here among us and changing us from the inside out. We serve a glorious Lord, He is good and His mercy endures to all generations! As we look ahead to the new year, there is excitement as we anticipate what the Lord is going to continue to do. There will be some changes in classroom space in order to make our children’s ministry more effective and easier for the parents to drop off the children on Sunday mornings. Thank you to the adult teachers who have been so flexible and truly have a heart in wanting to reach the children and their parents. Pray for every ministry and every minister as we enter this new year. Also, I would like to encourage everyone to consider becoming active in the ministry of the church. I know there are still great needs for workers with our children on Sundays and in the AWANA ministry. There is also a need for a leader in the nursery/preschool ministry, along with weekly workers in this area. I know God has supplied us with many gifted workers, now we wait for those who will say “yes”.Always remember to pray for one another, encourage one another, support one another, and most importantly, love one another. Bless each of you as you are an active part of what God is going to do here among us. (August 2011 Newsletter)
