Resurrection

    What a great celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord we had this past Sunday.  We have hope beyond the despair of this life because of the Resurrection.  We have the guarantee that God accepted the sacrifice of His Son on Calvary for our sins because of the Resurrection.  We have the assurance of life everlasting because of the Resurrection.  We have received so much because Jesus has Risen from the dead.  Our words are inadequate to fully expound of the blessings we have been given…suffice to say that if there were no Resurrection, our faith would be futile and we would perish in our sin.  Thank you Lord, for the Resurrection!

This is the time of the year that we say our good-byes to our winter family.  It has been good having you all here again this year.  God has used you to bless this church family, your faithfulness when you come to Arizona is an encouragement to us.  May the Lord bless you as you return to your summer homes, and we will see you next fall.  While I am saying good-bye I want to mention a very special lady that some of you know and many may not.  On Resurrection Day the Lord brought Lucy Elliot home to Himself.  Lucy was such a blessing to me and a real prayer warrior for the church.  Even if you did not know her, if your name was ever on a prayer list here at FBC, you can know this special saint prayed for you.  So Lucy we say good-bye, but only for a little while.

Judy Bushnell has been approved for a liver transplant, praise the Lord!  There will be expenses involved for the family over and above their insurance.  We will be doing some fund raisers for the Bushnell’s… keep your eyes open to the opportunities to help this wonderful family and to join together to make a difference.  Bless you all for being who you are in Jesus.
