Be Watchful In All Things

     In 2 Timothy 4:5, the Apostle Paul instructs us to “be watchful in all things”.  This admonition comes on the heels of a warning of a time when people would not endure sound doctrine.  It is a wise thing for us to heed Paul’s instruction.  If there ever was a time to be watchful, now is the time.  What should be the scope of our watchfulness?  I believe it should be all encompassing. We are to watch for those who would lead others astray and teach poor doctrine.  We are to be watchful concerning our own hearts and conduct in these times. We should be watchful concerning our brothers and sisters in the faith; as not to miss an opportunity to bless them. And finally, we are to be watchful toward the future…for Jesus is coming again.  The Lord has called us to be aware (watchful) of all things, that we might be ready vessels that He can use to fulfill His purpose.

   The prayer study has been tremendous. I have learned so much about the wonder of God as He works through the prayers of His people.  It is exciting to hear God’s people talk about how the Lord has changed their prayer life and they have a whole new desire to spend time with God.  Now we move to a place of just learning to one of application.  I hope you are already daily involved in a prayer experience with the Lord. It is my hope that we will have more times of small groups coming together to pray and times when the Body comes together for the express purpose of prayer. 

   As you receive this newsletter Teresa and I will be celebrating our 5th Anniversary here at FBC Fountain Hills.  We want to thank you all for the way you have accepted us and welcomed us to be a part of this special family of God.  It is hard to believe that we have been here five years, as it seems like only yesterday that we began ministering here.  You are our family and we love you all.  We look forward to many more years of God working through all of us here in Fountain Hills and around the world.  Thank you for loving us in Jesus…thank you for your love for the Lord and His Church!  It is great to be a part of the family of God.  Bless you all!
